When do practices start and how long do they last?

Practices for FSJ teams officially begin the first full week of December. However, some coaches may, on their own accord, elect to begin practices prior to that.

Practices are normally twice a week and last approximately 2 hours each practice.

What is the practice schedule for FSJ?

18s  Mon/Thurs  7:30 to 9:30

17s  Mon/Thurs  7:30 to 9:30

16s  Mon/Thurs  7:30 to 9:30

15s  Tues/Wed   7:30 to 9:30

14s  Tues/Wed   7:30 to 9:30  (some teams 5:30 to 7:30)

13s  Tues/Wed   5:30 to 7:30

12s  Mon/Thurs  5:30 to 7:30

11s  Mon/Thurs  5:30 to 7:30 

10s  Mon/Thurs  5:30 to 7:30

 

Are parents required to stay at practices?

Not all parents are required to stay for all practices.  Each team will choose a chaperone during their parent meeting and that chaperone (or an alternate) should stay for practices.  The chaperone and the alternate should be registered in USA Volleyball and have taken Safesport training.

What if my child has a school event during the scheduled practice time?

FSJ strives to schedule practices around major school events so that more girls can participate in club volleyball.

What if the proposed practice days/times don't work for my child's team?

If conflicts exist with multiple players from a team and the predetermined schedule, teams may choose alternative practice times during weekends at the facility, or at other gym locations. However any arrangements with offsite gyms would have to be made by the individual team.
